How much does a consultation cost, and how is time billed?

Most of our consultations begin at $350 for a 75-minute session, which allows us time to explore your space, goals, and garden vision together. To hold your spot, we kindly ask for payment in advance.

If we find ourselves needing a little more time, additional time is billed in 15-minute increments at our hourly rate of $250/hour.

For larger gardens (typically more than four beds) or more involved design needs, we’ll continue at the same hourly rate after the initial 75 minutes.

Is there a travel fee for in-person consultations?

Because we come to you, a travel time fee of $120/hour applies, billed in 15-minute increments. The good news? The first 30 minutes are always on us. :)

We do our best to group nearby appointments and plan efficient routes, so if you know about any traffic delays or road work in your area, we’d love the heads-up — it really helps!

I live over 30 miles from Columbia. What are my options?

Prefer to meet in person? So do most of our clients!

We find that face-to-face visits are often the most engaging and effective — and we love the chance to walk your garden with you in real time. That said, if you're a bit farther out, virtual consultations are a great alternative. They offer the same personalized care and attention, with no added travel fees.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We get it — life happens!

If something comes up, just give us a heads-up at least 48 hours in advance, and we’ll do our best to find a new time that works.

If it’s less than 48 hours and we’re unable to rebook your spot, a $350 cancellation fee may apply. This helps us honor the time we’ve set aside and stay fair to others waiting for appointments. Thanks so much for understanding!

How do we make sure everything runs smoothly before your appointment?

We want your experience to be seamless and stress-free. Here are a few quick tips to help:

1. Double-check your contact info when booking — especially your phone number, address, and email.

2. Keep an eye out for messages from us, and reply when you can. We’ll always do our best to respond within 48 hours.

3. A little flexibility goes a long way. Garden visits (and traffic!) can be unpredictable, so we appreciate your patience.

4. You’ll receive a confirmation a few days in advance. If you have any time constraints or last-minute updates, just let us know — it helps everything stay on track.

Will you be taking photos or videos during our session?

Yes — with your permission, we’ll take photos and video during your site visit. These visuals help us bring your design to life and ensure contractors have everything they need to give you accurate estimates.

We store these securely and are happy to share copies upon request — it’s a great way for you to track the transformation as your garden takes shape!

Will contractors need to visit my property, too?

In many cases, yes! Most contractors prefer to walk the site in person so they can provide accurate estimates tailored to your space. If your project is more complex, it may take a few visits to get everyone’s input.

But don’t worry — we handle all the coordination for you. We do our best to group site visits back-to-back, if we can, and communicate with contractors ahead of time, so everything flows as smoothly (and efficiently) as possible — with minimal disruption to your schedule.

How do cancellations work for coaching programs?

You may cancel your coaching subscription at any time with 30 days' written notice. This allows us to conclude your program intentionally and opens space for new clients.

If your subscription was paid in full, a prorated refund will be issued to your original payment method. Refunds are typically processed within 7–10 business days of your cancellation effective date.
